Water Quality Update on Morse

The following is the statement provided by Citizens Energy:

“Citizens Energy Group has received reports about a potential algae bloom in Morse Reservoir. Citizens has investigated the algae and relayed information to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, which will determine whether a warning should be issued to the public regarding recreational use of the reservoir. The algae detected is far upstream from drinking water intakes and therefore has no impact on drinking water quality. More information on recreational contact precautions can be found on IDEM’s Blue-Green Algae website: https://www.in.gov/idem/algae/ ”

MWA will continue to monitor the IDEM website for any potential recreational use warnings.

All questions regarding safe use of the reservoir should be directed to the IDEM.

Please note: The MWA is a group of volunteers doing our best to make Morse a better place to live. We are your neighbors, friends & fellow lake lovers. We are NOT a governing board nor do we have any power or authorization over the use or control of the lake.
